Taking on the Kitchen, this battle continues... |
There's officially only one month to go till take off day and let me tell you, the packing has really stepped up a notch this weekend! The initial dred of having to somehow convince all that stuff to fit into bags and boxes quickly morphed into laughs a plenty as we were taken on a trip down memory lane. As we tackled a new cupboard or shelf, we rediscovered lost little treasures, that weren't always that welcome.

Its amazing how much stuff lives in the kitchen. |

While Soph was slaving away in the confines of the kitchen I was banished to the spare room where a leaning bookshelf was waiting for me. I'm not sure how often you clean out your shelves, but here, it only seems to happen when we move, needless to say, there was a lot of crap just sitting there. Old uni books, more old uni books, info sheets from national park adventures, a few lone photos tucked up the back, a pile of random stuff, an old love letter.... Hang on, an old love letter??? Better read this again!

You find the strangest things in the cupboards! |
For the record, this love letter happens to be the only one that Soph has sent me. This particular letter, was written when she first moved to Shep, and yep it was full of emotion... and a touch of drunkeness! haha. But this didn't stop Soph, no she pulled out the best piece of old used Natremed (Soph's work) work roster she could find and some fresh, unused toilet paper (the fact it was unused, proves that she loves me!). Of course i had to read it out again for Soph to relive (re chase me around the house!). This was one of the little moments that was relived today, funny the stuff you find.
So the weekend continued with plenty of giggles, some great tunes on to jump around the house with. Then it was time to get to the dirty stuff, cleaning all those things that should have been done long before, ie the BBQ. Thankfully we've got a good buddy who's volunteered to look after some of our stuff and we could actually get rid of some of the stuff, not just plonk it in a box, then try and find somewhere for it to go. As luck would have it the weather held out for us for most of the weekend... until we actually had to load stuff into the ute! Down came the rain, just to make us hurry along a little bit faster. Ute unloaded, insert blue skies wouldn't you know it!

The first of many ute loads of stuff being shipped out! |
So here we are, a productive weekend now behind us, tuckered out and most of the pictured scones... scone! Yum, eaten far too many, but we earnt it, and they were good! But there's still plenty more packing to go, and the days are running out!

The reward!! mmmm was thinkin of hoeing into these fellas all day! |
Moving is always a massive effort, I just hope you didn't find those scones at the back of the cupboards! P.S. I love your blog!
