Namaste India

Here we are sitting in Kuala Lumpur and its hard to believe that we're no longer in India!  Sure the city is completely different, the foods, the smells and everything else, but our bodies and minds still haven't caught up with the stamps in our passports!

Four months on the sub-continent has definitely left an imprint on us.  Gone are the poo covered streets, the constant hustling for your business, the long stares from strangers, the chai, the dirt, and the smell of curries.  And it's kind of sad, we miss it already!  Perhaps the reason India drains you so much is so that it can top you up with part of itself, filling you up with memories of beaming smiles and the faces of all the 5 minute friends you've made.  To be honest we were ready to leave India, the feeling of being worn down got harder to shake, but the enjoyment of the small things never left.

We spent our last few days wrapping up India.  A visit to the Taj Mahal, where we weren't dissappointed.  We feared that after hearing everyone rave about it and seeing pictures everywhere for years it wouldn't be all that impressive... Wrong!  Seeing it at sunset from across the river was a great first introduction, but seeing it from inside at sunrise the next morning was fantastic!!  All the morning light creating beautiful colours and not having the view filled with crawling tourists made for a spectacular view!  What a perfect way to finish our time in India!  We said our thanks and goodbyes to India over our last glimpse and then headed back towards Dehli for another dose of Dehli Belly (got a feeling this one was lurking for a while though).

So that's it, no more India stories, or at least not for a while,  the pull to India is sure to get stronger and will definately get us back again.  So thanks to everyone we met there, both foreign and local, who made our trip so great!!
