A Fleeting Swedish Visit

So the last post was actually a bit delayed, and we've already been to Sweden and are now sitting in a very cold and wet Germany with some time up our sleeves before jumping in a car with a guy we don't know and have never met before (Its a ride share program, and he's hopefully taking us to Berlin!).  But back to Sweden....

Hoidy Goidy, Hoidy Goidy.... Well that's what they sound like over here, at least to our untrained ears.  Stockholm is a beautiful city sprawling across 14 different islands.  We only got to stay here for a couple of days, but loved every bit of it (except the cold weather on day 1).  A brief run down for you all before we again run out the door:

S - Ships.  They're everywhere, new ones, old ones, big ones, little ones.  The most impressive, and least impressive was the salvaged, 333 year old Vasa.  Built to be the kings flagship, showing the might of the Swedes, it was launched way back in the day....... then sunk 20 minutes later! Whoops.  It lay under the sea for about 300 years, then got salvaged and put in a museum where its amazinglz preserved and incredible to see!
T - Tiny alley ways leading to who knows what, turn the corner and be surprised.  The perfect spot for an evening beer!

O - The shape of the bread we found in the food markets, yum picnics followed

C - Cones Full of icecream!! Yum!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Mail?
K- Kroners, aka cash, and the source of all our thinking! How much is that exactly??

H - Harbour, water everywhere lake on one side, sea on the other, a loch in the middle, and even puddles on the ground! 14 islands and stunning harbour side views everywhere.

Our hostel... the boat used to be the hostel, but is now a bar.

O - Old Town area.  We loved just meandering around the old town island.

L - Linda and Ewan. Was great to catch up with Poowongs adopted citizens from Sweden, unfortunately it was too short, but worth the stop for sure!

M - Moose! They love a bit of moose here, you can eat them, buy them (not real ones though), dress up like them, and find pictures of them everywhere, we did not see a real one, or eat one here, but there were 2 on our beer labels!

Catching the views on the way to Germany, Soph loved it!
